I remember one of the problems being that the city had some ridiculous number of models employed (close to 50) so that fire trucks had to carry all sorts of adapters. <BR/><BR/>On the way to work a few months ago I noticed the hydrant on the corner of FL and NY ave spewing buckets of water. I called it in via 311 and it only took them 48 hours to send out a repair crew.
