Here's the Late Night Shots forum regarding me reposted in its entirety. It's not that hateful or offensive, but inquiring minds want to see it and who am I to deny them?

(The last post doesn't make any sense to me so I'd be grateful if someone would explain it to me.)

Does anybody find it interesting that this guy rips on LNS left and right on his blog, but whenever he goes to smith point he has nothing bad to say or nothing to say at all.
When he went in november all he could say was how nice everyone was.
Then he was there again wednesday night (apparently) and hasn't said a word about it.
Is he a closet non-hater? Or is he just one of the 99.9% of bloogers that spew hate on the internet because they are afraid to confront anyone in person?

The later. Personal blogging is the most self-centric, pompous, no-it-all, bullshit that you can read. It basically is just an outlet to declare how important/smart/funny oneself is.
The forum could be considered blogging but it is for the most part anonymous and it is a free for all joke format.
Overall I hate the I hate DC guy and if someone points him out to me at SP, me and LD will knock his lights out.

Charmingly, a number of DC Bloggers have signed up for LNS recently. I used to have to read personal blogs for work (believe it or not) and became familiar with some in the DC blogging scene…They've ALL signed up for LNS recently.

if he hates dc so much why doesn't he leave, seems a little strange. Probably a very insecure and non-social person.

I read his blog everyday. I once wrote him an email and he wrote me back. Just asked him alot of questions about himself and his blog and his reply was pretty hilarious and self-deprecating.

There is a large band of closet cases in DC who claim to hate LNS, yet somehow they can't stop talking about it. The concept of any of us crashing parties where we disliked the people or watching some online forum where goth hipsters discuss the hottest new suicide techniques just wouldn't happen.

You know what? It's not my fault you're in love with LNS or something!

I think Barrington Muffleberry, Danielle Peckerton and Thaddeus Jude would be excellent starting points, HBWW.

  2. My favorite is the guy that aksed, "if he hates DC so much why doesn't he just leave?"

Are all LNS memebrs such deep thinkers?

  3. At least Rusty got two threats of violence in the replies. I am grasping but at least that's a starting point.

  4. "no-it-all"? and good thing no one on LNS is self-centric. what a bunch of idiots.

  5. Two threats of violence! Woohoo! I hope that was two seperate people, because from the looks of the LNS folks, it's going to take more than one at a time to bring down our boy Rusty.

  7. Wow. Is it possible to report spelling as shockingly offensive?

  8. Rusty, don't know anything about LNS and don't care, but I am amused by your hatred of LSS. Here's a link to another scathing review of her "journalism."

  9. Your girl Laura Stepp Sessions reminds me of an "author" I saw on the Colbert Report peddling some book about African Americans that was sheer sociological nonsense.

She was gonna say that candidate Obama is not black, he is African American (because his father is from Africa). And that black refers to the ethnic group we know as black Americans or African Americans.

Africans are Africans or African Americans and blacks are AFrican Americans but not black.

A lesser person would have been consused. She's like the black African American Laura Stepp Sessions. They're all over the place peddling their crappy books. Please don't buy any more of those books.

  10. so i read this blog a lot, have never commented, but LNS seems very much the typical, "i'm trying so hard to be cool", kind of group. and i know i'm not the spelling, grammer queen of the world, but i am a stickler for using words properly. it pretty much cut me open to see the line that said "no-it-all". now come on. i'm a lazy typer, but it is really hard to correctly type "KNow-it-all"? hey late not shots....if you read this, stop popping your blue blazer collar. it's sucking the life out of me.

  12. To the individual talking about the African American female author on the Colbert Report. I am an African American and I completely agree with the author's perspective. There is a a huge cultural difference between African Americans who are descendants of slaves and those who recently came to America from Africa of their own accord. Thats like me saying that Italian immigrants and Irish immigrants have the same cultural experience because their skin color is the same and they are both originally from Europe.

    Response:

First of all, like most white Americans I am not native-born American, a decendent of Europe. I am not ethnic because I am mixed. My new ethnic group is white Americans (excluding non-white caucasians from the Middle East and North Africa who are not white).

Second, you missed the entire point. OF COURSE AFRICANS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS HAVE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES. I AGREE W/ THAT.

I was saying that this "author" was confused about labels. She thinks that African people aren't "black" and was just playing w/ labels and NOT making any sense.

Third, I don't care that you're "African American." I am entitled to comment on this issue as a white person (I am NOT a caucasian-american, btw.)

Fourth, I FULLY recognize the differences between Africans and African-Americans, whom I both consider "black." Primarily, the average native-born African American is bi-racial with 20% caucasian blood. They are genetically different from African immigrants, as well as culturally different. I fully recognize that.

Next time, understand the issue before you comment and stop being so defensive.

  16. That "author" interviewed on Colber Report was the African American equivalent of Laura Sessions Stepp.

    Intellectual garbage.
