D.C. Finance Chief Voices Doubt About Stadium Plan

At least someone is standing up to the mayor. I love baseball, but its economic benefits to the city are being played up way too far.

  1. D.C. Chief Financial Officer Natwar M. Gandhi warned yesterday that the mayor's plan to spend $339 million to lure major league baseball to Washington could face a shortfall of nearly $2 million a year if the team plays poorly.

    i think this is too much for a game! why do you have to play a game that will lead to this expenses?
